Well, I guess I have to sum up the rest of the weeks lessons in one post. We spent the first part of the week in California. The beauty of homeschooling is that it's portable, and we did lessons on the plane in both directions, as well as at Grandma and Grandpa's house.
He did great with Language Arts, missed one word on his final Spelling test, and is reading better and better every day. His handwriting is coming along so well, it's like a different kid is doing it!
For Math, we did more with graphs, and more with addition and subtraction. I keep hoping that he'll make the jump from sums that he needs to see and feel, to something he can do in his head or on his fingers. But, apparently, he's just not ready to make that jump yet. Maybe flash cards are in order.
Science was about living things, and we've had to put off planting until this next week. Just couldn't do it in California.
For History we learned about Sargon and his military dictatorship. Reagan can now tell me where he was born, and how he conquered Sumer.
Today we actually made it to mass! It's funny how kids can learn things anywhere, even if it's not what you expected. We participate in the mass from the crying room, so that Piper doesn't bother people. She's only 1 and she's a mover. Oh, and she screams if unhappy. So, it's easier in the crying room. Today Reagan helped keep another little boy happy there, also. He was learning about how to be a daddy. At least that's the way I see it. If today was any indication, he'll be a good one.
