Planned Parenthood

The following will be my tirade against Planned Parenthood. You don’t have to read it, and you don’t have to agree with it. But I hope you do on both counts.

Planned Parenthood is evil, and must be destroyed. The more I learn about this organization, the more convinced I am of the truth of that statement. As a teen in California Planned Parenthood represented itself as a place to help us. They sold the idea of sex as something that people did to “feel good” and that it was something to show love. They lied to us. They told us abortion was easier than giving birth, and STD’s could be avoided with the use of condoms. So many of us got pregnant, got STD’s, and a few like myself ended up with a broken heart because of an abortion. Planned Parenthood helps place a wedge between parents and children. They encourage promiscuity and homosexuality. They mislead their clients. They perform abortions in huge numbers. They attempt to thwart any restrictions on the “right” of women to kill their unborn babies. Some centers have admitted to the sale of body parts. They were founded on principles of eugenics and racism. And they are in no way pro-woman as they claim.

Planned Parenthood has launched a new website aimed at teens. You can view it here. Planned Parenthood (hereafter referred to as PP) encourages the access of adolescents to material relating to reproductive services, contraception, and abortion without their parents knowledge, let alone consent. I have to consent for my child to receive antibiotics, a blood transfusion, or surgery. I’m responsible if my child has an accident and damages another persons property. Apparently my right to monitor my children ends at their sexual “freedom”. Teens can get anything PP offers including contraceptives that have serious side affects and they never have to even mention it to the parents. PP offers this advice to teens on their website: “Sometimes parents need their kids to tell ‘em what to do… Talking about sex is a way to train your parents to see you as the adult you are becoming instead of the kid they thing you are” (emphasis original) Can you believe that?! They have to train us? Another article on-line states:

this “may show you are ready to be making responsible decisions about sex. You may get your parent’ help finding information about birth control, safer sex, or for finding a clinician, nurse practitioner, or gynecologist…Often parents want to feel needed and involved in their children’s lives. Make sure to tell them what role you want them to play in your decision making.”

As if any decision besides abstinence until marriage is truly responsible. Teens don’t know enough about sex and relationships to make these decisions. PP certainly isn’t giving them information about the emotional fallout of sex too soon, unplanned pregnancy, or disease. Instead PP sets up the parent as the enemy, the big bad grown-up who can’t understand. I think there’s enough of that thank you very much! PP has no business teaching my teens about sex.

For teens needing help, there is none at PP. Life Dynamics, Inc did a study in 2002. They had a 23 year-old woman pose as a 13 year-old girl and call PP centers all over the country. Her story was that she was pregnant by her 22 year-old boyfriend. While PP is required by law to report acts of child molestation, rape, etc 80% of the clinic workers that she spoke to offered to ignore the abuse even while acknowledging that the relationship was criminal. One clinic worker even offered to give a years supply of birth control to the boyfriend thus allowing the relationship to continue without trouble. My question is, in what way does this protect children? Does PP actually believe that a 13 year old can consent to sex with a 22 year-old? Do the laws of this country mean nothing?

PP teaches that there are no wrongs related to sex. Promiscuity, homosexuality, and a host of other sexual acts are not only approved of but encouraged. One brochure talks about what’s right for the individual. As if right and wrong is relative to each individual. Hence, if it feels good, do it. One PP Dr. stated at a seminar “Our alternate solution is to be ready, as educators and parents, to help young people obtain sex satisfaction before marriage. By sanctioning sex before marriage, we will prevent fear and guilt.” This seminar was back in 1953 and if you think PP has become more conservative in the last 50 years you are seriously mistaken. PP is against abstinence education and actually has a resource kit available that gives “information for educators, parents, curriculum advisors, and other professionals who want to…prevent the implementation of abstinence-only programs.” In their promotion of sex they offer these games on their website: Jim Dandy and His Very Gay Day; Hooray for Birth Control!; The Sexually Transmitted Petting Zoo.

PP has many ways of getting into the hearts and minds of our kids. They give presentations at schools, community-centers, and sometimes even synagogues and churches. Some clinics pay teenagers to promote PP among their peers training them as “outreach workers”. Those of us who are people of faith should be ashamed of ourselves for letting them in.

PP is the performs more abortions than any other organization. They have almost 200 clinics throughout the country. Since they began performing abortions back in 1970 they have killed more than 3 million babies. They have supplied mifepristone (RU-486) to at least 25,000 women. They have dispensed more than 458,000 “morning after” pills which have undoubtedly killed many babies in their earliest days of life.

PP officials have made statements that literally turn my stomach such as Alexander Sanger February 10, 1995 “We’re trying to shame the medical profession into doing it’s job. It’s a breach of the public trust when you’re graduated and licensed as an ob-gyn not to perform abortions.” I know a number of ob-gyn’s who’d disagree with him. PP says they’d like all children to be born wanted, as if the wanting changes the child. The truth is I’m the same person whether my mother wanted me or not. My value is not related to her desire for me in her life. And if she doesn’t want me, aren’t there people who will? But PP’s numbers show their bias: Emergency Contraception: 458,892; Surgical abortion 213,026; Chemical Abortions 25,000; Prenatal Care 15,618; Adoption referrals 1,951. These numbers were in one year.

PP is highly involved in any legislation or court actions that are related to abortion. PP has come out against the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act, the requiring of consent or notification of the husband before his wife can abort, requiring the consent of notification of parents before their minor daughter can undergo an abortion, a requirement that abortion centers file confidential reports with the state on each abortion committed, government aid to centers that promote pregnancy assistance but don’t refer or counsel for abortions, the sharing with women the link between abortion and breast cancer, and the right of citizens to give information and alternatives to women entering PP abortion facilities. PP does fight for at least one thing: money. They want our tax money so that they can be adequately funded as they attempt to destroy families and kill unborn babies. Do I sound angry? I am.

A PP facility in Overland Park, Kansas sold parts from aborted babies to researchers. Fetal spinal cord $325, fetal reproductive organs $550, fetal brains under eight weeks $999. They have put an actual price on the life of the unborn. That is in addition to the money they collected to perform the abortion in the first place. PP has every reason to lie and protect their death industry. It is making them a profit. The practice of selling parts was shut down due to the fact that it violates federal law. But PP has gotten around that by charging researchers for collection, processing, and shipping the “donated” parts.

In numerous writings and speeches Margaret Sanger (the founder of PP) has made statements that are just offensive. “The Jewish people and Italian families” she stated “are filling the insane asylums, and…feeble-minded institutions” and calls their reproduction “multiplication of the unfit”. She says of the Chinese “the incessant fertility of millions spread like a plague.” She believed that birth control would solve the ills of the world “Child slavery, prostitution, feeblemindedness, physical deterioration, hunger, oppression, and war will disappear from the earth.” Well, we’ve had it for a while now, and I still see those things. If it isn’t working, why are we still promoting it? Ms. Sanger called for us to “cease bringing unwanted children into the world to suffer a while, add to our burdens and die. Let us cease bringing others into the world to compete with us for a living.” She titled a chapter in one of her books “The Wickedness of Creating Large Families” which starts out “The most serious evil of our times is that of encouraging the bringing into the world of large families. The most immoral practice of the day is breeding too many children…The immorality of large families lies not only in their injury to the members of those families but in their injury to society.” Along with this belief that the large family is evil she also believed that “the most merciful thing that the large family does to one of its infant members it to kill it.” (emphasis added)

After visiting hospitals in Germany Ms. Sanger stated that the children were “lacking in the simple and most ordinary article of decency…even the babies must be all day in wet napkins, because of the inadequate supply for the proper change. This has given rise to skin trouble, and the poor little waifs are a sad miserable lot. It would be a great kindness to let them die outright, I believe.” While Ms. Sanger shows an appropriate emotion to the well-being of the children, her solution shows where her heart lies. Does she come back to America with the idea of raising money to help? No, she believes death is the appropriate alternative.

Ms. Sanger believed that it was “insidiously injurious philanthropy” to help poor pregnant women. She believed that the public should understand the “terrific cost to the community of this dead weight of human waste”. She thought that “no woman shall have a legal right to bear a child without a permit…no permit shall be valid for more than one child.” She believed that poor pregnant women were “human waste”. What a sad statement that is.

Ms. Sanger invited Hitler’s advisor on race hygiene to the United States. She believed that other races were inferior and could be diminished or wiped out through birth control. She described a program for the black community that would employ “three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds and with engaging personalities” to encourage the use of birth control. She added, “The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal…We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.” What kind of woman is this? A racist and evil woman, I believe, and yet revered by PP as evidenced through their Maggie Awards, named in her honor. She also disliked Christianity stating, “Birth control appeals to the advanced radical because it is calculated to undermine the Christian Churches. I look forward to seeing humanity free someday of the tyranny of Christianity.” Funny, I hope to one day set humanity free from the evil of her ideas. She believed through birth control she could help rid the world of “human weeds” and “morons”. This is a woman who lacks true compassion. PP still targets minorities as evidenced recently through ad campaigns in Spanish. While it is true that Ms. Sanger is long gone and no longer runs the organization, it is a house built on principles that should deeply wound our sensibilities.

After September 11th 2001, this “compassionate” organization even offered free abortions to women “displaced” by the attack. As if the killing of our babies could undo the tragedy. As if violence against the unborn would help to heal from an act of violence. Yet, it’s hard to be surprised. It’s the same lie they tell to rape victims. But acts of violence do not heal the wounds created from acts of violence.

In conclusion Planned Parenthood is EVIL and must be destroyed. To protect our families, our children, and our diversity we must do our part to bring them down. If you have teens direct them to

www.lovematters.com and www.gravityteen.com instead of the PP website. Let your public officials know you don’t want your tax dollars supporting PP. Contact your school officials and tell them you don’t want PP in your child’s school (or better yet home school!) Educate others when possible about the true nature of PP. I believe it is our duty. This post is my contribution.
