Book List

We had a nice surprise on Tuesday. After family story time at the library, Dominic showed up. He had been at work, and was hoping he got off in time to meet us for the story time. Of course I was just happy to see him at all. Especially so that I could browse the library by myself, even if only for a few minutes. Ah, the things that make me happy now that I'm a mom! None of the other housewives' husbands came to be with them. I'm blessed. Here's our book list for the week:

Mommy:

Those Who Saw Her: Apparitions of Mary by Catherine M. Odell

Out of Mormonism by Judy Robertson (There's a blog post for another day: How I became an LDS member and got back out again and then found my way home to the Catholic Church)

Kids:

Gretchen the Bicycle Dog by Anita Heyman (Reagan LOVED this book)

Ceasar Rodney's Ride: The Story of an American Patriot by Jan Cheripko

Go Home! the True Story of James the Cat by Libby Phillips Meggs

Little Farm by the Sea by Kay Chorao

Halloween Monster by Catherine Stock

My Rows and Piles of Coins by Tololwa M. Mollel

Crossing the New Bridge by Emily McCully

Ali and the Magic Stew by Shulamith Levey Oppenheim

Deer: Graceful Grazers by Jody Sullivan

We're still finishing up "James and the Giant Peach" since he read part of it with Grandpa and I had to catch up on the story before continuing. Every time I read that with him, we laugh. It's just a funny, clever story.

Dominic is beyond excited that Boston won the baseball game tonight. I'm not a huge baseball fan, but it does seem like they totally deserved it.

We have so much fun at the library. It's just a treasure trove for a homeschooling family. With a library card, a bible, and a willing heart, I think many parents could teach their children at home. It's just not as hard as I had thought it would be. Sometimes I have to be creative, but it's totally worth it.
