Babies, Babies, Babies

Well, yesterday Bridget got worse. Her fever spiked at 103, and even Motrin wouldn't bring it down completely. Since she didn't have symptoms of an ear infection or anything, I wasn't sure if I should take her in. But her behavior was strange, going between lethargy and extreme crankiness. I decided it was worth taking her in.

So, after looking her over, they couldn't find anything wrong! More tests were necessary. They took urine from a catheter (my poor baby) and stuck both arms trying to get blood for a culture. She cried at one point without even making a sound. It broke my heart. I took her home last night knowing no more than I did when I brought her in.

This morning it turns out I had an OB appointment that I'd TOTALLY forgotten about. I finally heard fetal heart tones. Strong and healthy just like they should be. I felt much better.

But Piper's exploding bottom is back. Time to pick up more pedialyte!

Then I got the test results back for Bridget. It looks like a bladder infection. Her WBC's are 23,000 and other counts are way off, too. So, we have to go back to the pediatrician for an IM shot of Rocephin and then she'll be started on Amoxicillin most likely.

Between sick kids, my messy house, and general fatige, I hardly feel human. I can't even bring myself to make dinner!

On a different note: Please pray for us. There may be an opportunity for advancement for Dominic at work. It would virtually erase our financial problems due to the jump in pay. This really may be the way that God looks after us! So, I'd appreciate any prayers! And pray for our girls that they feel better soon.

Thanks!
