Well, after I logged off the other night we prepared for the big banquet. I got all dolled up in a dress (couldn't be too formal with maternity, but I did my best) and Dominic wore a jacket and tie (which he longed to get back out of). The dinner and banquet were great. Hotels.com provided an open bar afterward which people took great advantage of. I don't think cruise ships are prepared for open bars. Suddenly there were about 1000 people crowding every bar on the ship. I had my glass of wine and then a virgin pina colada. One lady tried to stare me down as I had the pina colada. I'm not a pregnant lush, it's VIRGIN!!
That night we turned in while everyone else was still partying. But at 3:30 we were awakened to an alarm. We wondered if it was a drill, but it was not. There was a fire on board and we waited for further instructions. It was the height of excitement. Eventually we got word that the fire was out and we could return to bed. The next day we enjoyed the boat as everyone else got off in Half Moon Cay. We'd been before, and knew the boat would be deserted, so we enjoyed. We even hit the casino in the afternoon and I won $71 at nickel slots!
Really that was enough for us. We could have come home then. We did all we wanted to do. I had my massage, we'd enjoyed tropical waters and beautiful shores. Now we were ready to come home. Today we came home, and I still have to hop another flight to CA to go pick up the kids. I miss them fiercely. I don't think I'll be ready to get away from them again for a long long time.
We had a great time, and the Holland America cruise line was fabulous. The food was good, the service was great, and the ship was beautiful. I would recommend them to anyone!
And I have the best husband ever, who treated me like a queen. Without him, the cruise wouldn't have been any fun at all!
